Business, conferences, meetings, festivals, travel, entertainments, functions, fundraising activities and ceremonies are important parts of the lives of many people of all ages. This includes people with various degrees of hearing, audio processing disorders, dyslexia, attention and focus issues.
Venues that offer year-round public engagements and events such as transport, sporting venues, entertainment venues, amusement parks and shopping centres are often not communication accessible. This lack of access to information means that some people are unable to participate equally in these situations unless specific provisions are made. Communication is only effective if the receiver understands the message.
