Dr James Fielding is the CEO and co-founder of Audeara. Dr Fielding studied business management and biomedical science at the University of Queensland (UQ). After working in finance and public relations in New York, he started his medical degree where he was awarded a scholarship to complete MBA Studies.
James’ passion was an idea for a medical device that would make it easier for people to take hearing tests and in the process, they realised the benefit for people outside of the medical application and started developing Audeara: technology that uses your personal hearing profile to enhance your entertainment experience. Dr Fielding stepped away from full-time clinical medicine in February 2016 to dedicate himself to Audeara, which floated on the ASX in May 2021.
He is an avid music fan and the drummer for band ‘The Dashounds’. He believes in increasing the awareness of hearing loss and implementing improvements to ensure that all people can feel connected to the people and experiences that bring them joy.

Since graduating from the Masters of Audiology Program at University of Queensland in 2005, Ben Hoddinott has established himself as a leader in the hearing care industry. Ben has a keen interest in implantable hearing devices, auditory processing and tinnitus management. Over his career he has helped thousands of clients improve their hearing through the fitting of hearing aids, cochlear implants and other implantable hearing devices. In 2011 and 2012, Ben worked as a clinical specialist for Cochlear supporting the world-leading implant program at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital with some of their most complex cases.
In 2012 Ben relocated back to Brisbane to lead a network of 26 medical hearing clinics, with over 50 audiologists supporting a group of over 60 ENT surgeons. He was instrumental in the development and expansion of one of Australia’s largest cochlear implant programs and has trained dozens of clinicians across a range of implantable hearing devices. In 2022, Ben started his own independent audiology practice, The Little Hearing Co. at Wynnum. In an industry that is increasingly dominated by large hearing aid chains, Ben aims to maintain a role for locally owned, independent audiology providers, where all members of the community can access a comprehensive range of expert hearing services.
In his spare time, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, playing the guitar, gardening and cooking.
